Passionate about teaching, Denis Bordage is professor of organ at the Grenoble National Conservatory, formerly teaching at the Conservatory of Angers, the National Schools of Music and Dance in Mâcon and Avignon, at the School of Music of Marmande and at the Sacred Music Institute of Lyon.
He holds a Certificate in teaching organ and a State Diploma for Old Instruments. After studying at the Bordeaux Conservatory with Francis Chapelet, where he received a Gold Medal and a Medal of Honor of the city of Bordeaux at the unanimity, he obtained the National Diploma of Higher Education in Organ Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon, in the class of Xavier Darasse and then in the class of Jean Boyer.
He also holds a Licence degree and a Master degree in musicology (research work on the Dom Bedos organ of the Holy Cross Church in Bordeaux, published in the collective book “The Testament of Dom Bedos”, edited by William Blake & Co. and The Renaissance of the Organ in Bordeaux).
Denis Bordage is organist titular of the great Merklin organ of the Redemption Church in Lyon since February 1992 and gave numerous concerts in France, and Japan (International Christian University in Tokyo and Kanda Church in Tokyo in 1998, Tokyo Cathedral in 2006 and 2014 ; Art Center in Mito in 2006, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Kobe Shoin Women’s University in July 2011).
Since 2013, he is organist of the Desmottes organ of the Redemption Church, with the expectation that the great Merklin organ is fully operational again.
